Chapter Two

"Morning, guys," you greeted the crew in a still-half-asleep voice. School started way too early for you; you were SO not a morning person. Soul's chill presence eased your bad mood, though.
"Sup, Eliza?" the albino greeted.
"Tired," you admitted, yawning hugely then blinking a few times.
He chuckled, flashing his signature sharp-toothed grin and fist-bumped you, your usual handshake.
Then the most unexpected thing happened: some other students, running through the halls uncontrollably and squealing in a childish game of tag bumped right into Soul, pushing him right into you. Your lips locked with his accidentally - go figure.
Taken aback, you just stood there, eyes wide and cheeks burning as if they were about to catch fire.
He pulled away from you, his surprised face mirroring yours. Everyone was silent, waiting for your reaction.
And they sure got a reaction, all right...
"I-I... ah..." you mumbled. You spun around on your heel and darted away, embarrassed, your face in your hands. Which wasn't too smart, considering the hallway was crowded and you were running into everyone.
You could hear someone calling your name from behind you as you pushed your way through the dense crowd of students.
A warm hand grabbed your arm, and your body jerked to a stop and looped around to face those same crimson eyes. The eyes that sent chills through your body - not the bad, hairs-standing-on-end kind of chill, but the kind that woke up the butterflies in your stomach. The eyes that you wished would see you as more than just a close friend...
"Eliza, why'd you run away like that?" he queried in his deep voice, holding his grip on your arm. "It wasn't cool at all," he tagged on as an afterthought.
You didn't have a viable answer at the moment, so you just stared into his red orbs with your green ones. "Well, I... uh..." You dropped your gaze, your eyes pricking with building up tears. You felt a deep blush splash onto your cheeks.
"Heh," he chuckled a little in the way he usually did. "Well, I don't know about you... but... I enjoyed it." He placed a carful finger under your chin and brought his lips back to yours in another kiss, but this one was purposefull... and meaningful.
Your eyes widened in shock at first, and your heart began to flutter at the realization that he did like you back.
You smiled slightly then synchronized your lips with his, his razor-sharp teeth occasionally nipping your lip.
The two of you broke away, and he chuckled at your surprised face, his cheeks showing signs of faint blushing.
"S-Soul, I... I had no idea," you softly spoke.
"Ever since I met you," he admitted. "I've been waiting."
You scowled a little, upset that he didn't admit it until now (and for the fact that he should know that you're prone to keeping feelings to yourself). Then the butterflies came back and you smiled, just happy to know that he did. "M-me too... I love you, Soul."
He smiled broadly, flashing his white teeth; he wrapped his arms around you and embraced you. "I love you, too," he said in a deep, sure voice, his blood-red eyes staring into yours.
